Lucky No. 7 for Winter Craft Fair!

The Winter Craft Fair celebrates its 7th year, with a better than ever selection of quality crafts and foods, featuring many well–known familiar producers alongside a selection of exciting newcomers. Running over the weekend you will have all the opportunity you need to browse and shop for the perfect Christmas presents for your family and friends, or just treat yourself to something special.

Christmas in Cookstown first gets underway at the Burnavon on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th November when the Winter Craft Fair returns for its 7th year! Now a much anticipated annual shopping opportunity the fair again presents a fantastic array of quality hand produced crafts and home baked goods. Again with over fifty different exhibitors over the course of the two day event, there is sure to be something to appeal to everyone and to suit all purses.

Local artists Denis and Rosemary Ferguson and Andrea Hayes will be joined this year by Karen Logan with her unique range of vibrant and quirky original artwork, prints and cards.

We are delighted to welcome back Lynda B , Mount Ida Pottery and Alison Hanvey with their extended ranges of functional and sculptural ceramics and jewellery. On that note, jewellery lovers will be spoilt for choice with Thompson Jewellery Design, Reskatirriff, Ruby Bijou and newcomer Empathy Creations among the exhibitors.

When it comes to textiles there are no fewer than eight brand new exhibitors putting in an appearance. Look out for Alana Doherty Designs with her lovely range of cushions, purses and hanging hearts , each one with a different message. Then there is Magael McLaughlin with her gorgeous range of luxury hand–woven scarves and throws as well as Nosy Rosie Crafts whose beautiful handmade kids clothes and doorstops are among their products. And remember if you don’t see exactly what you want many of these producers will take an order from you and send it to you when it is ready.

Add to the mix a selection of greetings cards, glass and festive decorations not to mention a vast range of home–made foods including delicious jams, chutneys, salad drizzles, seasonal cordials, Christmas puddings and bakes and you will find there is nothing missing, as you work your way through your festive shopping list.

Upstairs at the Burnavon is also home for the duration of the fair, to Bon Appetit whose proprietor, is Joanne Loughrin. Joanne will be using her culinary magic to put together an extensive menu for you to sample when you take time out from shopping to relax and refresh.

As in previous years you can also look forward to great musical entertainment while you shop. Don’t miss Cookstown Youth Choir and the Traditional Music in Schools group on Saturday 23rd and very special performances from Sperrin Choir and Cookstown Folk Club on Sunday 24th.

And if you need any more reasons to visit the Winter Craft Fair this year don’t forget there is loads of free parking nearby and admission is free!
