Boo! Join our Halloween celebrations.

In preparation for Halloween, Cookstown District Council is inviting everyone to get into a spooky party mood and get their celebrations off with a bang with their fun for all the family Halloween Celebrations, taking place at the Mid Ulster Sports Arena, Cookstown on Thursday 30th October from 6.30pm to 8pm.

For the kids there are free spooky arts activities with The Creation Station, Jumping Clay, and Jolly Sands, and face painting taking place from 6.30pm – 8pm inside a covered marquee.

Also for the little ones there will a fancy dress competition with prizes for the best dressed, a Caterpillar Train operating from 6.30pm – 7.30pm, and for the slightly bigger kids and adults, there’ll be a very special Ghost Tour, which starts every 15 minutes from 6.30pm – 7.30pm!

You can also sample our food, provided by the Courtyard Cookstown and Bon Appetit or buy a treat from our pop up toy shop and chocolate fountain stall.

The grand finale of course is the highlight of the evening, our annual Fireworks Display at 8pm. The best vantage point to see the fireworks and to get into the Halloween fun is at the Mid Ulster Sports Arena car park.

Those attending the fireworks are advised to arrive early to get parked and find a good spot to enjoy the display as the fireworks will be set off at 8pm sharp. On the night please be aware of the traffic system in place. People attending the event will gain access only from Mid Ulster Sports Arena and don’t forget to wrap up warm!

Cookstown District Council Chairman, Councillor Wilbert Buchanan said, “Fun for all the family this year at the Mid Ulster Sports Arena is the perfect opportunity for everyone to light up their Halloween celebrations and to stay safe around fireworks. With spooky stories, music, entertainment and a fantastic fireworks display, the Cookstown District Council’s event is sure to get everyone into the Halloween party mood and I look forward to meeting people at the Mid Ulster Sports Arena”.
