What’s better than one great comedy show? Three great comedy shows all on the one night, Friday 4th March at the Burnavon, Cookstown. ‘Badly Cut Fringe’ supplies a mini festival chock full of laughs all under the one roof and starring three of Northern Ireland’s hottest stand ups.
Paddy McGaughey is one of the best acts on the local comedy scene and has played support to a whole host of acts including Tim McGarry, Colin Murphy and Kevin McAleer. He is the resident MC at the Braid comedy club in Ballymena and a fantastic addition to any comedy bill up and down the country.
Acerbic regular MC of Masons Comedy Club, 2013 Comedian of Culture Bobby Best returns with his second full length show ‘Critical Condition.’ The show is a state of the union address about Bobby’s impending fatherhood and all of the craziness that it entails. Bobby was a finalist in the all–Ireland Craic Attack comedy search and also can regularly be heard talking all things nerdy on the 2D podcast.
Headline act of the night is the brilliant Terry McHugh, (Edinburgh Fringe 2013, 2014, Micky Bartlett tour support) presents his amazing new Edinburgh show ‘Stand up by me’. In Terry’s short years of stand up he’s amassed an amazing amount of gigs and has recently opened for Patrick Kielty on his ‘Home’ tour and it’s easy to see why. A natural born story teller and disgruntled Belfast man transposed to Omagh, there’s nothing he can’t turn a funny eye to. Whether it is accidentally getting his tweets read out in Stormont to becoming the best extra ever on Game of Thrones. Terry’s show is a must.
A joyous night of top notch new comedy! Catch them now before they’re huge… either through success or being morbidly obese… either one. After a month’s workout at Edinburgh the gang are fighting fit and excited to flex their comedy muscles for a local audience. Patrons are warned, this is stand–up comedy and you can expect plenty of laughs but also some strong language and adult content, with the evening cabaret style and open bar available throughout the evening, therefore this performance is suitable for over 18s only.
Tickets are on sale now at £10 from the Burnavon Box Office at the Burn Road, by phone on 028 8676 9949 or online at www.burnavon.com.
