It’s hard to believe that Cookstown Floral Art Club was established in 1984 – 30 years ago, which means that in 2014, the Club celebrates its Pearl anniversary.
Each year the Club organises an Open Night, and as this year is a very special anniversary, an event with a difference is being held in Burnavon Theatre, Cookstown on Wednesday 9th April. The Open Nights provide the Club with an invaluable opportunity to raise much needed funds for local charities, with this year’s donation going to support Parkinson’s Disease.
This will be a spectacular event with floral demonstrations by Yolanda Campbell, a highly acclaimed professional florist, teacher and demonstrator. Yolanda will demonstrate a number of designs accompanied by an interpretation of her designs through music and song. The theme is ‘Let me Entertain You’. All floral designs will be raffled on the night, so you may even get to take home a beautiful arrangement!
In supporting this event on Wednesday 9th April, you will be able to meet Club members and find out more about the activities available throughout the year. The Club generally meets twice a month, with various programmes each year. These include demonstrations, work nights, club competitions and an annual outing. No experience is necessary to join, just come along; you may discover a new talent! The Club meets on the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month at Desertcreat W.I. Hall, Cookstown at 8.00 p.m. New members are always welcome.
The demonstration starts at 8.00 pm on Wednesday, 9th April; tickets costs £8 and are available from the Burnavon Box office at 028 8676 9949.
