Ulster-Scots Leid Week 2024

During Ulster-Scots Language Week 2024, the Burnavon Arts Centre highlighted some of the wonderful initiatives supported through Mid Ulster District Council’s Community Arts Plan.  The Traditional Schools in Music Programme has been operating in schools since 2007 and provides an opportunity for local primary school children to receive weekly tuition in Irish and Scottish traditional music.  The video captures the talents of the children from Moneymore Primary School who are enrolled in the programme.  Also performing are Highland Dancers from the Bready Ulster-Scots Project, under the tuition of Naomi Mitchell.

Mid Ulster District Council want to thank Donald Canavan, Ryan McGarrity, Naomi Mitchell and all the staff and pupils from Moneymore Primary School who were involved in this performance.  Watch the full performance{^media|(width)300|(height)200|(ext).mp4|(url)~/getmedia/5441b612-564f-4b1f-b290-73f1e0215e1b/Scots-Leid-week-291124_2.mp4^}
