Sensory Infusion Art Programme
Over 350 students participated from eight schools which included a combination of special schools and specialist provision within mainstream across the district. Pupils were given the opportunity to explore several different sensory art forms, that encouraged tactile exploration, visual stimulation, motor skill development and social interaction during the three-month project. Feedback from the school staff involved was overwhelming positive and highlighted the encouraging effects sensory art can have on developing fine motor skills and on calming and creating the opportunity for sensory regulation.
The pupil’s artwork was on display in the exhibition space of the Burnavon Arts & Cultural Centre during the month of June 2024.
